VIA Rail Canada User Reviews
VIA Rail Canada receives praise for its spacious legroom and friendly onboard staff. However, several users have noted issues such as delays in arrival times, outdated train facilities, ticketing inconveniences requiring station visits for printing, and discrepancies with meal provisions on board.
Overall, my experience with VIA Rail was positive and memorable. I enjoyed the smooth and comfortable ride, especially compared to driving long distances. The seating was spacious, and I appreciated the ability to move around freely, relax, and enjoy the scenic views through the large windows. The staff on board were friendly and professional, creating a welcoming atmosphere. One of the highlights was the dining car (if applicable), which offered decent meal options and a chance to meet other travelers. The onboard Wi-Fi was helpful for staying connected, although it did have some occasional slow spots in rural areas. On the downside, there were a few things I didn’t enjoy as much. Delays at times were frustrating, especially when they weren’t clearly communicated. The ticket prices can also be on the higher side if not booked well in advance. Additionally, in some stations, the waiting areas felt a bit outdated or lacking in amenities. Overall, though, VIA Rail provided a pleasant and relaxing travel experience, and I would definitely consider using it again for future trips across Canada.

What I did not love is that I arrived early and was hoping to switch to an earlier train, however the VIA Rail customer service helper was not able to because only Budsbud (third party through which I bought the ticket) is able to. However, when I tried calling the number given, I was just on hold and never reached anyone. Additionally I had paid for an option to have flexibility to modify the ticket time, however this should not be an option if I cannot actually access this service.

The trip was good. There was nothing special . We left on time, and we reached our destination on time .

The station is horrible, I missed the train because we could not find the right place only after the train was gone

Didn't enjoyed the long delay at Montreal station for Montreal to Moncton.
