Greyhound South Africa User Reviews
Greyhound South Africa receives mixed feedback from users. Many appreciate the comfortable seats, but there are concerns about punctuality and bus conditions. Some passengers reported issues with cleanliness and temperature regulation on board. Additionally, driving behavior was noted as a concern by some travelers who experienced fast or reckless driving during their trips.
I recently had the pleasure of traveling with Citiliner Bus Company and I must say it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The bus was impeccably clean, the seats were comfortable and the toilets were spotless. What really stood out to me was the attention to detail and customer comfort displayed by the driver. When the temperature dropped, the driver promptly adjusted the AC to ensure everyone stayed warm. This small gesture made a big difference, especially since I hadn't brought any blankets with me. Another aspect that truly impressed me was the driver's commitment to passenger safety and well-being. At each petrol station stop, the driver made sure that every single person was back on the bus before departing. This level of thoroughness and care for passengers' safety is commendable and something I have rarely seen with other bus companies. I highly recommend traveling with Citi Liner Bus Company for a hassle-free and enjoyable journey.

They left a passenger at a bus stop simple because they were not sure if it's their bus it didn't Even stop a sec it drove passed the passenger was shouting for the bus to stop we all heard him calling. Remember we booked a citiliner bus but we were taken by greyhound so it was bound for the passenger to doubt the bus first. I really hated that behavior, I don't know if it's because he was a man because they waited at the station in mtata for some men 3 ladies requested that he should be waited for and was given direction passed time for departure.

There was little to nothing to enjoy of the Sunday trip from Johannesburg to Polokwane really. 1. I arrived at the Johannesburg Park Station 1hr prior check-in time for a bus scheduled to leave at 8h30am. 2. I immediately notified the bus officials at reception about my presence and asked about the whereabouts of the bus. I was told to sit down, relax and wait for the announcements. At 8h30am, the bus hadn't arrived and there's 'no communication' from any bus official. Only at 9am, when the trip should've started, the bus arrives. The bus officials use Khelobedu language (language mostly spoken in Tzaneen/Phalaborwa), assuming that everyone is can use that language. We left from the Johannesburg platform. Half-way in the trip, just after Hammanskraal, the bus starts to malfunction and the driver was somewhat starting to panic. the bus was scheduled to arrive in Polokwane at 14h10, but was late by 1hr. This has caused inconveniences on the part of passengers and the bus service showed no remorse for putting us in a malfunctioning bus.

The bus was over crowded. The lack of space for extra handluggage is a problem. It's my 2nd time that I have traveled with Citiliner. I don't have bad experiences with Citiliner nor Greyhound.

It was amazing and the bus driver was very kind.
