The train was very clean and the staff were super helpful! Just one thing — even though I bought two tickets in one booking, my boyfriend and I were given separate seats. Luckily, the staff helped us sit together. Hope the ticketing system can fix this next time!

For an eleven hour trip, it was worth the price. The first train was perfect. It was newer, comfortable, a smooth ride, attentive and helpful employees. It felt like they cared. The second train was older and the seat was uncomfortable. The ride was jerky and not smooth at all. Using the restroom was very difficult. The trash was full and they only collected trash once during the trip. They collected it 4-5 times on the first train. I had minimal help getting on/off the train with our luggage. Once again on the first train they lifted our bags on the rake and on/off the train. I guess the newer trains make for a better ride. Not sure why the employees were so different from train to train. I would use VIA Rail again. The problems are not a deal breaker but it does tarnish the good memories I should have.
