ALSA Algeciras Lisbon recent customer reviews
The bathroom on the bus cost 1 euro, that was cruel considering there were no breaks in the trip until after 4 hours in. Neither bus was labeled Alsa. First was a municipal bus that transferred us to another bus station and then another bus that nowhere said Alsa. Another traveller who spoke Portuguese and English was able to help us find the bus. The bus had WiFi, but the movie app was incompatible with an iPhone XS. The upside was the second bus was actually quite nice and fairly empty, allowing us to stretch out and relax some.

This was one of my worst bus experiences and I have traveled by bus in Thailand and all over South and Central America. One, I went to the bus station listed on the ticket, Estación Maritima. The bus did not come there. It left from the central station in Algeciras. That info came in an email but I received it too late so I missed the bus at 9:15 AM. There were no people in the Eurolines office at the Estación Maritima. A kind woman in the Alsa office helped me and arranged for me to go to Seville at 11 AM where I could get another bus for Lisbon at 2 pm. 2) There was a bad wreck on the highway so we were stalled for at least 45 minutes outside Seville. Therefore I missed the bus to Lisbon. 3) There was no info whatsover at the first bus station in Seville, so I then had to take a taxi to the Plaza de Armas. 4) The woman in the Eurolines office there told me the next bus was at midnight to Lisbon. She insisted on charging me an extra 10 euros for changing the ticket to midnight, even though none of the situation was my fault. Whereas the woman in Algeciras did not charge me at all and I went on another bus line to Seville. When I came back to board the bus at 11:30, the situation was extremely disorganized. We started to load our luggage into the bus, but were then told we needed a boarding pass and that we had to go back upstairs to the office to get them. Several of us ran upstairs to discover that no one was in the office, and were told that the office person was downstairs. So we ran back downstairs and were then told that there were 2 buses going to Lisbon and that we should move our suitcases over to that one. This was not an Eurolines bus. It was a Rodoviaria Do Lis bus. I was under the impression that I had paid for a higher class bus which would include wifi and electric outlets to recharge cell phones. These services were not available. The bus was so crowded I ended up in the seat behind the back exit door which had a barrier in front and therefore there was no room to stretch out my feel. I really needed to sleep but it was impossible to get comfortable, so I arrived in Lisbon at 5 AM Saturday, exhausted when I was supposed to arrive originally a 9 pm Friday night.
