I don´t know if something was wring with the bathroom or the bathroom door, but half back part of the bus smelled slightly of urin the entire >24 h trip.

DO NOT TRAVEL WITH CIVA. Worst bus experience throughout South America. Major delays on both times travelling with them, bus had a consistent putrid smell. Toilets were disgusting no place to put used paper so it was all chucked on the floor. Seat was soaking wet, staff were indifferent. Please attempt to find alternative options.

Bus was very comfortable and we arrived in one piece. Big issue was that we asked at the reception before we left whether we would be dropped off in the terminal in Juliaca and we were told we would be. However, when we got to Juliaca we were the only people getting off (everyone else staying on for Arequipa) and we were dropped off on the side of the road about 40 minute walk away from the terminal despite asking if it was the terminal when we got off (which they said yes). It meant we were in a very dangerous area at 4am with no transportation to get to the terminal with all of our belongings. We were told by locals that we should not be in this area at all let alone at 4am and had to get a risky tuk tuk to station as this was the only available option. Very scary.

The water and coffee tank in the back at the bus jumped opened and a big metal container almost hit my head. Furthermore the bus broke down and we had to drive in two small busses to puerto maldonado which wasn’t what we paid for.
